Individual therapy

I offer private counselling and psychotherapy in a very comfortable and relaxed setting. You can see me for short or long term work on whatever issues are troubling you.

I believe that each of us holds the ability to overcome most obstacles we face in life and have the capability of unlocking our full potential. However at times in our life we need support to achieve these things or even just to keep our head above water. Whilst friends and relatives may fulfil these needs most of the time, you may be at a point in your life when a professional therapist is needed to help you gain greater insights into yourself and your situation.

As a person centred therapist I will endeavour to understand you and your situation as clearly as possible, helping to expand your awareness and understanding. You will retain full control over the therapy and your direction as I help you to achieve your desired outcomes.

Clinical supervision

I have supervised many counsellors since completing a training course with Michael Jacobs at Leicester University in 1994 and supported a several of these in achieving accreditation with BACP.

Training workshops in psychological, interpersonal and counselling skills

Whilst working at University and colleges I have designed and delivered many training workshops for psychological and emotional issues. I am currently working in collaboration with a training provider in South Wales. Please contact me if you would like to discuss bespoke training for your organisation.

Research into clinical processes and outcomes

I have written three qualitative research pieces, two for my MA in counselling and Psychotherapy and a third in collaboration with an ex-client which was published in an international journal. I have submitted a large scale, mixed methodology research bid to NIHR with the support of Ian Russell, the Clinical Trials Director at Swansea University.

Consultancy to organisations

During my years employed by Swansea University and colleges I have been involved with and led a number of projects for the benefit of students and staff, particularly counselling stress and mental health, setting up a variety of services. Please contact me if you would like to discuss a consultancy for the benefit of your organisation.
